Just a quick post to showcase a flyer I designed for a Macmillan Coffee Morning that was published to advertise the event at my college.
Creating this on Photoshop, essentially there’s a basic layout to incorporate the event and location into each other, joined together with an ‘@’ symbol. The logo and title of the event were borrowed from the official poster, then applied with white strokes to outline the objects from the background. The rest of the info supplied was done in the same font, at different sizes to draw attention to the key facts. At this point, the poster only uses 3 colours – white, green and blue.
To finish it off, I overlaid an image of a coffee ring stain and cake crumbs onto the design to emphasize what the event entailed 😛 Even though I originally designed this as an A5 flyer (which I did see someone wearing around campus on their hat), it was also printed off as an A3 poster.
The good thing about the Macmillan coffee morning being held around the nation on the same day meant that when a friend from work invited me to their coffee morning, even though I wasn’t able to make it, I was able to offer and then supply her with her own flyers, simply by changing the details and logo on the bottom half.
